Case details
Efficiency in every aspect of cloud infrastructure can accelerate the sustainability of your workloads through optimization and informed architecture patterns. This session will dive deeper into Sustainability techniques for your cloud workloads, and provide direction on reducing the energy and carbon impact of your AWS architectures. The talk will also cover user patterns and software design that customers of any size can apply to their workloads. Let's build a greener future together 🍂 Digital transformation is becoming sustainability transformation. Sustainability is driving business growth and is the need of the hour. This talk will cover the shared responsibility model of the cloud when it comes to sustainability. While the talk briefly touches upon how AWS is responsible for the sustainability *of* the cloud, the focus of the talk is how you can architect for sustainability *in* the cloud. This includes a deep dive into the five pillars of sustainability which are: - User behavior - Software and architecture - Hardware - Data management - Dev. & test process Each deep dive will cover architectural decisions you can take to make your workload more sustainable. Examples include optimizing your failover strategies for resilience, reducing workload peaks, and how optimally storing logs. The talk will also touch on how to incorporate the idea of sustainability into your business metrics.
