Before the Flutter and Dart teams started working together, they were two separate teams at Google aiming for delivering software better for Web platform. They were focusing on different problems associated with Web performance. Tim Sneath explains this difference by mentioning that while the Dart team was exploring Virtual Machine technologies and structuring large-scale application development for Web, the Flutter team focused on UI presentation models, and dealing with the limitations of HTML and CSS, especially in mobile platforms. In this talk we will take a historical tour, and explain how the two technologies have a close relationship and have evolved together over time.
