Data analytics is changing the face of business in nearly every industry. Data analysts are now able to collect and organize vast quantities of information from a variety of sources, giving businesses the opportunity to use data as an effective decision-making tool. SQL, or Structured Query Language, is a programming language specifically designed for managing data in relational database management systems (RDBMS). Using data, insights that would have been impossible to derive years ago can now be found with just a few lines of computer code and user-friendly interfaces that leverage drag and drop abilities for non-technical users. With SQL business are now able to analyze their data both structured and unstructured in a faster and easier way. Having worked in various industries I have seen and taken part in the digital data transformation process for various businesses both in Kenya and USA through design and development of data products using various tools including Oracle Analytics, Microsoft BI Suite, PowerBI, Tableau among others.
