Case details
In this talk I will start with what is a design system and why do we need it. Then I will describe the concept of atomic design, what are elements, atoms, and molecules. How the components library works if it's made according to atomic design. How each design molecule consists of atoms and latter of elements, and how the slightest change impacts the whole design. What are some general rules for designs systems. Description of different types of Typography rules, Grids, Color palettes, elements such as buttons, checkboxes and radios. Some general Do's and Don'ts. Consistency of layouts and styles and when to be inconsistent. How to deal with components across multiple platforms such as web, iOS, and Android. How to deal with real life problems like file organisation, and process of review. How to incorporate a design system in already big ongoing product that didn't have a system before. Al lastly an introduction of the source of inspiration and best ones out there such as Material UI, Human Centred Design, Carbon Design System and a few others.
