Case details
The talk is specifically for aspiring Engineering Test leaders and the ones who are currently in the role and want to take bigger strides. It will talk about the right mindset as a leader. Problem:-- ======= At times, we realize the Software Test leaders struggle to make an impact within and outside the QA teams as it needs to be. There are various reasons for it and a few to list out are:-- 1. Not adhering to Test Driven Development. 2. Limited understanding of Shift-left in testing 3. Ineffective STLC/SDLC processes 4. Missing bigger picture(The limited mindset of getting the job done) 5. Unable to say "No". 6. Team burning out due to extra pressure of deadline(Ineffective Planning) + more... Solution and How it Can Be Fixed? --------------------------------------- The solution to these is a methodical approach and emphasis on "Quality is Shared". The right processes to implement TDD. Bringing in the importance of unit tests by developers. Involving QA early in the Cycle i.e. shifting left with intention. Testing with the principle of Build, Test, and Destroy. Learn to say "No". Negotiate correctly with the other key stakeholders and set the right expectations. Don't manage but lead the team.
