Case details

**The digital revolution started with the monolith’s fission into microservices. This set logical and physical boundaries, fusing the infrastructure and software dimensions.** At first glance, microservices simplified how teams develop independently. However, it added extra complexities around performance, correctness, general management, and a slower development cycle. In this talk, we will dive deep into the architecture and implementation of a composable monolith, cross-service network-less communication, and how to handle efficient development across teams while deploying a single artifact using Fastify and Platformatic.

About Author

Luca Maraschi's fascination with coding started at the age of six, when he stumbled upon a game called Gorilla on a Commodore 64. Intrigued, he delved into the game's Basic source code, marking the start of his interest in programming. By the age of eight, he had already moved onto writing code in C, igniting a passion for engineering, which he combined with his childhood dream of becoming an alchemist– ultimately leading him to a career in tech entrepreneurship.

Today, Luca is co-founder and CEO of Platformatic, where he is working on creating a scalable and simple solution to remove friction from backend development. Prior to this, he founded and successfully exited three companies and held an array of technical leadership roles at companies including mobileLIVE and Telus Digital.

Luca is driven by a hunger to learn and push the boundaries of technology to create truly unique and valuable products.

Luca's success as an entrepreneur is driven by his ability to find product-market fit by asking the most important question, "Would I ever use this, and why?" He believes that a good product should answer a clear need and that entrepreneurs should be willing to push the boundaries of the status quo to deliver something truly unique and valuable to end users.
